Ford recalls 979,797 SUVs, trucks over incorrect head restraint instructions in owners’ manual

Ford Motor Company is recalling 979,797 model year 2018-2023 Expeditions and Lincoln Navigators with third-row seating; and model year 2019-2023 F-Super Duty F-250s, F-350s, F-450s, F-550s, and F-600 SuperCabs and three-passenger front bench seat regular cab vehicles.

The automobile manufacturer said the owner’s manual did not include instructions for adjusting or removing certain head restraints.

The company disclosed without instructions, the head restraints may be improperly adjusted, increasing the risk of injury in a crash.

In connection with what to do in addressing the problem, Ford will mail the Owner’s Manual addendums that describe how to adjust and remove the head restraints for the center seating positions free of charge, agency report said.

Ford also noted that notification letters are expected to be mailed July 10, 2023.
