Ford recalls 422,201 Explorer, Lincoln Aviator and Corsair vehicles over faulty rearview camera

Ford Motor Company is currently recalling 422,201 model year 2020-2023 Explorers & Lincoln Aviators, and model year 2020-2022 Lincoln Corsairs, thereby expanding a recall from earlier this year.

The automobile manufacturer said the.video output of the affected vehicles, all of which are equipped with a 360-degree camera, may fail, preventing the rearview camera image from displaying.

Ford noted the loss of the rearview camera image could reduce the driver’s rear visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

I’m regard to what to do in addressing the defect, the company disclosed the remedy is under development, agency report said.

Vehicles repaired under the previous recall will need to have the new remedy performed, stated Ford Motor Company.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 26, 2023.
