NCDC records 108 new COVID-19 cases, Nigeria’s total now 981

* Country’s total Coronavirus deaths are 31, recoveries 197

Nigeria has recorded 108 fresh cases of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).

This latest figure brings the country’s total infections to 981, according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

The disease control agency states that 78 of the new infections were recorded in Lagos, 14 in FCT, and 5 in Ogun State.

The country’s total deaths from the virus now stand at 31 while 197 have recovered.

“108 new cases of #COVID19 have been reported; 78 in Lagos, 14 in FCT, 5 in Ogun, 4 in Gombe, 3 Borno, 2 in Akwa Ibom, 1 in Kwara and 1 in Plateau.

ConsumerConnect gathered that the global death toll from the novel Coronavirus epidemic had risen to 186,462 as of Thursday, April 23, according to a tally from official sources compiled by AFP at 1900 GMT.

The global death toll rose by 4,576 over the past 24 hours and a total number of cases increased by 68,017 worldwide.

Also, over 2,675,050 declared cases have been registered in 193 countries and territories since the pandemic first emerged in Wuhan, China, December 2019.
