Hilda Baci: Officials reviewing evidence to affirm Nigerian’s efforts –Guinness World Records

*Guinness World Records, in a fresh statement, says the reference body is ‘looking forward to receiving the evidence for its Records Management Team to review before we can confirm the record is official’

Guinness World Records has released an official statement in connection with the recent feat achieved by Nigerian chef Hilda Baci.

ConsumerConnect reports Baci, a Nigerian and native of Akwa Ibom State, South-South region, surpassed the record for the longest cooking time by an individual, with a 100-hour record time.

The Nigerian chef beat Indian chef, Lata Tondon, who had completed the task in 87 hours, 45 minutes, and 00 secs in 2019.

The Guinness World Records, in the fresh statement published on its official Web site said: “She’s hoping to snap up the record title for the longest cooking marathon (individual) which currently belongs to Lata Tondon (India) with a time of 87 hr 45 min.

“Hilda began cooking on Thursday and continued through to Monday, reportedly whipping up 55 recipes and more than 100 meals in a whopping 100-hour stint.”

The reference body also stated: “Officials on our records team look forward to reviewing the evidence and hope to be able to verify Hilda’s efforts as a new record very soon.”

According to Guinness World Records, one of its spokespersons said the body is “looking forward to receiving the evidence for its Records Management Team to review before we can confirm the record is official.”
