Land Rover recalls 12,587 Range Rover, Range Rover Sport vehicles over faulty storage compartment latch

Land Rover is recalling 12,587 model year 2022-2023 Range Rover and model year 2023 Rover Sport vehicles.

The automobile manufacturer said the second-row seat armrest storage compartment latch may fail, allowing the objects from within to be unsecured in a crash.

Land Rover explained the unsecured objects from within the armrest compartment may strike the vehicle occupants in a crash, increasing their risk of injury.

As regards what to do in rectifying the fault, the company noted the dealers would replace the locking arm of the second-row armrest storage compartment free of charge.

Letters notifying owners of the recall are expected to be mailed June 30, 2023.

Meanwhile, affected vehicle owners may contact Land Rover Customer Service on (800) 637-6837.

Land Rover’s number for this recall is N789. K9.
