Mercedes-Benz recalls 70,000 more GLE, GLS vehicles over faulty window trim bars (Full List)

Emmanuel Akosile | ConsumerConnect

Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) is recalling 70,225 model year 2022-2023 GLE350s, GLE450s, GLE580s, GLS450s, GLS580s, Maybach GLS600s, AMG GLE53s, AMG GLE63 Ss, and AMG GLS63s.

ConsumerConnect learnt the automobile manufacturer disclosed the current recall is an expansion of a recall issued in the autumn of 2022.

MBUSA said the rear door window trim bars may detach from the affected vehicles while they are being driven.

The company stated this scenario may cause a road hazard and increase the risk of a crash or injury to consumers.

In connection with what to do in addressing the defect, the company said dealers would inspect and secure the rear window trim bars — as necessary —  free of charge.

Letters notifying owners of the recalled are expected to be mailed May 16, 2023.

Affected vehicle owners may contact MBUSA Customer Service on (800) 367-6372.
