What some friends, admirers say on electoral victory

Responding to the governor’s thank you message to the people of Oyo State, Makinde’s friends and fans in the digital space all over the world also commented on his recent victory at the polls.

ConsumerConnect reports Mr. Olanrewaju Usman, a cybersecurity, Information Technology Governance, risk and compliance analyst wrote:

“You deserved it GSM. Pls after inauguration come join APC, and assist to build the nation. You are a Superman!

In his remarks, Agbakoba-Onyejianya, a mediator, compliance, governance, regulatory adviser and technology project management, simply stated: “You have fans in Lagos, too.”

Likewise, Adetola Adegoke, Co-founder at LearnFlo, wrote: “Your Excellency, I congratulate you on this great occasion.

‘It’s a vote of confidence for your administration and an opportunity to leave your name carved out in the history of Oyo state.

“Many believe that Governors don’t really perform in their second term, but I am sure yours will be different based on the projects that are ongoing and many that are still in the pipeline.”

The company executive said: “I also see this as an opportunity for you to make a mark in Nigeria politics.

“Once your administration is seen as one that is innovative and people-centric.”

Adegoke said this the administration’s education policy: “In as much as these big projects are important, there are some basic things that this administration must see to and ensure its complete eradication.

“One of such issue is the issue of out of school children.

He further stated: “For a government that practises free education policy, there should be no child begging on the street of Oyo State.

“Parents should be compelled to enrol their children in schools and stop them from begging for alms on our streets. “No matter where the child is located, they should have access to education and basic health.”

The Co-founder of LearnFlo added “this is something that can be achieved, and I am willing to contribute my little quota to ensure this is realised.

“God bless the people of Oyo State and Nigeria, and God bless you (Makinde).”

Ridwan Huzzain, a graduate of Sociology from the University of Ibadan (UI), also wrote: “Congratulations to you My Governor, Omituntun 2.0.

“There is a greater need to check and set up curbing programmes and agency that will see to the issue of out-of-school children.

“As we all know that ‘Ọmọ tí a kò kọ, lọ má gbé ilé tí a kọ tá,’ meaning, ‘an untrained and uncultured child shall in future sell his parent’s nurtured home.’ ” According to him, the “miscreants of today were once neglected by the past government.

“Such is the problem we face when we fail in planning for a safer and sane future.”

Huzzain noted “this project/programme is not solely government’s responsibility; rather it’s everyone’s yet the government needs to take the bull by the horns in showing the citizens the way and where other stakeholders responsibilities key.

“Oyo State will be greater. Congratulations, once again, Sir.”
