Continental recalls 2,937 Contact, PureContact LS, TerrainContact tyres for overcuring that may cause breakage (See List)

Continental Tyre the Americas is recalling 2,937 4×4 Contact, size 255/55R19 111V XL; PureContact LS, size 215/60R16 95V; and TerrainContact H/T, size 255/55R20 107H tyres.

The tyre manufacturer said the affected products may have been overcured during production.

The company explained that overcured tyres may develop a break in the sidewall, resulting in sudden air loss or experience tread separation, increasing the risk of a crash.

In regard to what to do, Continental will replace the affected tyres free of charge, agency report said.

Owner notification letters were expected to be mailed January 12, 2023.
