Emmanuel Akosile | ConsumerConnect

Ford Motor Company is recalling 101,001 model year 2020-2023 Lincoln Aviators and model year 2020-2022 Lincoln Corsairs equipped with a Revel Audio System.

The automobile manufacturer disclosed when the driver’s seat belt is not buckled and the vehicle is started, the seat belt warning system may activate the audible warning chime for an insufficient amount of time (less than 4 seconds).

An audible warning chime that does not properly alert of an unbelted seat belt can increase the risk of injury in a crash, Ford Motor Company stated.

In connection with what to do to address the defect, the company said dealers would update the audio control module software free of charge.

Ford will notify owners by mail, with letters expected to be mailed February 6, 2023, said agency report.

Affected vehicle owners may contact Ford Customer Service on (866) 436-7332.
