Infrastructure: Lagos installs new trains for Blue Line Rail project –Sanwo-Olu

In activating another phase of the state’s rail transportation projects, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, has announced the the state government took delivery, and installed another train sets for the Blue Line Rail project in the cosmopolitan state in Nigeria.

ConsumerConnect reports Governor Sanwo-Olu disclosed this development in a series of tweets through his verified Twitter handle at Babajide Sanwo-Olu @jidesanwoolu Monday, January 9, 2023.

He stated: “Dear Lagos, we have taken delivery of two new train sets for the blue line rail.

“These passenger trains have been cleared at the port of entry, and have been moved to the National Theatre station (in Iganmu), where they have been lifted onto the elevated rail tracks.”

He also wrote: “I am indeed glad to inform the good people of Lagos that with the arrival of these train sets.

“We are on course with our plans to change the face of the rail transport system in Lagos State.

“A Greater Lagos is indeed rising.”

Meanwhile, Mr. Jubril Gawat, Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor of Lagos State on New Media, also has confirmed the latest effort on the Blue Line rail project via his verified LinkedIn account Monday.

Gawat noted that the Lagos State Government (LASG) also said it had extended the traffic diversion in place on Muritala Mohammed Way, Yaba, in Lagos, till Tuesday, February 28 this year.
