Michelin North America is recalling 16,983 of the following tyres sold for use on certain vintage and antique vehicles:

The company said the DOT certification symbol is missing from the above-mentioned tyre sidewalls.

Tyres without the DOT symbol may be used in inappropriate applications, increasing the risk of a crash, said Michelin.

In connection with what to do in rectifying the defect, Michelin, which has not yet provided a schedule for recall notification, will replace the tyres free of charge, ConsumerAffairs report said.
