Lagos warns against sale of stimulus food packs

Consequent upon reports that certain unscrupulous groups are advertising the staple food items contained in its recent stimulus packages for 200,000 households during the stay-at-home period over Coronavirus crisis, the
Lagos State Government has warned against sale of the food packs.

Lagos State Commissioner for Agriculture, during an inspection tour to some of the markets at Ikeja Primary School, GRA and Ojota Nursery and Primary School, Ogudu, Lagos, said the package which includes bags of rice, beans, garri and bread were not for sale.

Gbolahan stated that the government had not engaged organisations to produce and distribute the stimulus package on its behalf.

The Commissioner advised the citizenry to not buy such products from anybody, adding that products under the stimulus initiative are adequately branded, and are to be given out free.
