Nissan recalls 203,000 , Frontier, Titan vehicles with possible transmission issue

Nissan North America is recalling 203,223 model year 2020-2023 Titans and Frontiers.

The automobile manufacturer said the transmission parking pawl may not engage when the vehicle is shifted into Park, which can result in a vehicle rollaway, and increase the risk of a crash and injury to consumers.

It was learnt this is Nissan’s 12th recall of 2022 for a total of more than 1.4 million vehicles.

As regards what to in addressing the fault, the company disclosed that until there’s a fix for this problem, affected vehicle owners are advised to apply the parking brake every time they park their vehicles.

A remedy is currently under development, said Nissan.

Meanwhile, notification letters to vehicle owners are expected to be mailed November 1, 2022.
