Ohanaeze to Buhari: Igbo people committed to Nigerian project

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, the apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation has reiterated the commitment of the Igbo people to the Nigerian project.

ConsumerConnect reports Prof. George Obiozor, President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, stated this Tuesday, September 13, 2022, in Owerri, during President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to Imo State.

Prof. Obiozor, however, noted that Igbo people seek justice, fairness, and a platform where they can contribute their quota to development of the country.

The President-General also noted: “I wish to reiterate and speak on behalf of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, both at home and in the Diaspora that our people are committed to the Nigerian project.

“That we desire a country that provides a platform and an opportunity to contribute our utmost best to the growth of our fatherland.”

Obiozor stated: “We seek justice, equity, fairness, and going by our antecedents, we are in every part of Nigeria and therefore, claim to be the most federating of all Nigerian.”

During his visit to the South-East state, Buhari earlier, had inaugurated the 36km dual carriageway of Owerri-Orlu Road in Imo State.

The President later met with the South-East leaders at a forum. However, other governors of the South-East were conspicuously absent.
