Mercedes-Benz (MBUSA) is recalling 2,526 model year 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS 450s, EQS 580s, and AMG EQS5s.

The company said that the front or rear bumper tow ring assembly may have insufficient thread depth, which can result in the tow ring detaching from the vehicle.

MBUSA disclosed that tow ring that detaches during vehicle transport or loading can increase the risk of a crash or injury.

As regards what to do to correct the error, the automobile manufacturer said that dealers would inspect and replace the tow ring assembly thread – as necessary – free of charge, agency report stated.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 30, 2022.

Affected vehicle owners may contact MBUSA Customer Service on (800) 367-6372.
