NCC seeks stakeholders’ comments on draft regulations, participation in Public Enquiries

*The Nigerian Communications Commission urges interested industry stakeholders to make written submissions on the subject and participate in the Public Inquiries in the stated dates

In exercise of the telecoms sector regulatory Commission’s functions under the Nigerian Communications Act 2003 (the Act), the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has published amended draft regulatory instruments for stakeholders’ comments.

ConsumerConnect reports the NCC, in a public notice signed by Mr. Reuben Muoka, Director of Public Affairs, and titled: “The Notice Public Inquiries on Draft Regulations on Type Approval, Consumer Code of Practice & Guidelines on Advertisements and Promotions, Technical Specifications For the Deployment of Communications Infrastructure & Short Code Operations in Nigeria” was published on its corporate Web site www.ncc.gov.ng.

  1. Type Approval Regulations (as amended)
  2. Guidelines on Short Code Operation in Nigeria (as amended)
  3. Guidelines on Technical Specifications for the deployment of Communications Infrastructure (as amended)
  4. Guidelines on Advertisements and Promotions (as amended)
  5. Consumer Code of Practice Regulations (as amended)

 

The Commission stated in accordance with Section 57 of the Act, Public Inquiries in respect of the above mentioned draft regulatory instruments have been scheduled to hold virtually at 11.00a.m. on the dates stated in the table below:

Interested stakeholders are by this notice invited to make written submissions on the subject and participate in the Public Inquiries.

Details of the virtual meeting will be forwarded to interested attendees prior to the Public Inquiries, said the Director of Public Affairs.

All submissions must reach the Commission on or before Monday, July 25, 2022 and should be addressed to: The Executive Vice Chairman, Nigerian Communications Commission, Plot 423, Aguiyi Ironsi Street, Maitama, Abuja, and Attention: Director, Legal and Regulatory Services.
