For clarification purpose, the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Vice-President (Prof.) Yemi Osinbajo has debunked claims that the Vice-President was involved in a car accident earlier Monday, June 6, 2022, in Abuja, FCT.

ConsumerConnect reports Mr. Laolu Akande, in a series of tweets Monday disclosed that Prof. Osinbajo only intervened to help victims of an auto accident he met enroute the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, in Abuja.

The Vice-President’s Spokesman said the Vice-President arrived Ondo State, his final destination, to which he travelled on a condolence visit to victims of the recent Owo church attack.

Akande also stated: “On his way to the Abuja Airport this morning (Monday), the Vice-President came across a road traffic accident, stopped to lend assistance, and ensured that the victim was taken to the hospital in the VP’s convoy ambulance immediately.

“The VP then, proceeded on his trip and is now in Ondo State heading to site of yesterday’s attack in Owo.

“VP now in Ondo to deliver personally the President’s condolences and message regarding yesterday’s attack in Owo.”

The presidential aide tweets added: “VP’s security and medical teams assisted in removing the victim from the crushed vehicle resulting from a somersault, and transported patient to Airforce Base Hospital, in Abuja.

It was a solo accident. The car had somersaulted on the opposite lane and was impaled on a tree.”
