Mercedes-Benz recalls 9,156 EQS 450, EQS 580, S500, S580 vehicles over defective lights

Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) is recalling 9,156 model year 2022 EQS 450s, EQS 580s, and model year 2021 S500s and S580s.

The automobile manufacturer said a software error may disable the rear turn signals, hazard lights, and reverse lights.

The company stated that disabled rear turn signals, hazard lights, and reverse lights could reduce the vehicle’s visibility to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.

In connection with what to do to correct the error, MBUSA said dealers would update the rear signal software free of charge.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed May 13, 2022.
