Federal Government urges Nigerians to complete NIN-SIM integration without delay

*Prof. Isa Ali Pantami, Minister for Communications and Digital Economy, urges citizens and legal residents in the country to  ensure completion of the NIN-SIM linkage in the next few days

The Federal Government earlier had approved an extension of the National Identification Number-Subscriber Identity Module (NIN-SIM) linkage deadline for the citizens to March 31, 2022.

In preparation for the enforcement, Prof. Isa Ali Ibrahim (Pantami), Honourable Minister for Communications and Digital Economy, urges citizens and legal residents to use the next few days to ensure that they complete the linkage.

Dr. Ikechukwu Adinde, Director of Public Affairs​​​, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), and Mr. Kayode Adegoke, Head of Corporate Communications, National Identity Management ​​​​​​​Commission (NIMC), in a joint statement issued Thursday, March 31, 2022, in Abuja, FCT, said in view of this development, Prof. Pantami has further directed that NIMC should offer enrollment services round-the-clock for the next few days.

The statement noted that the Honourable Minister also thanked all those who have completed their NIN-SIM linkage thus far.

On Pantami’s behalf, Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta, Executive Vice-Chairman/Chief Executive of NCC,  and Engr. Aliyu Aziz, Director-General/CEO of NIMC, urge citizens and legal residents in the West African country to take advantage of the window to complete the process of enrollment and verification within the next few days.
