Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing is recalling 36,558 model year 2021 C-HR vehicles.

The automobile manufacturer said the radar sensor may not have been activated during production, making the pre-collision system (PCS) inoperative.

The company also noted that an inoperative PCS that does not provide a malfunction indicator to the driver, or braking assist as expected, can increase the risk of a crash.

In respect of what to do in rectifying the error, Toyota said dealers would inspect and activate the radar sensor, as necessary, free of charge.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed April 11, 2022.

Affected vehicle owners may contact Toyota Customer Service on (800) 331-4331, and Toyota’s number for this recall is 22TA02.
