In a move to protect the wellbeing of consumers of the firm’s range of products, the Lagos State Water Regulatory Commission (LASWARCO) has shut down Viju Industries Nigeria Limited, located in Ikeja Industrial Estate over failure to obtain the permit to use a Water Treatment Plant.

ConsumerConnect reports the Lanre Owoturo, Director of Monitoring and Compliance Unit of LASWARCO, disclosed this development in a statement issued over the weekend. The regulatory Commission noted that the offence was among other undisclosed violations committed by the beverage company.

Owoturu stated: “LASWARCO is a Lagos State Regulatory Agency empowered by Law to enforce compliance.

“The Commission will not watch companies operate illegally without obtaining all necessary documents to operate for the safety of citizens.”

Viju Industries Nigeria Limited is a leading producer of milk flavored drinks, has unveiled two new flavours, an addition to its fruit-flavored milk drinks, including Viju Malt & Milk drink and Viju Baked Yogurt drink.
