Buhari visits Ogun State for projects commissioning January 13

*The Ogun State Government of Nigeria announces President Muhammadu Buhari will commission some of the infrastructural projects Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration has executed in the ‘Gateway State’

President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to visit Ogun State for commissioning of infrastructural projects by the state government Thursday, January 13, 2022.

ConsumerConnect reports Mr. Kunle Somorin, Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to Ogun State Governor (Prince) Dapo Abiodun, in a statement issued Sunday, January 9, disclosed that President Buhari is expected in the ‘Gateway State’ this week.

Earlier, the President was billed to visit the South-West state December 21, 2021, but the official visit was reportedly postponed indefinitely.

Somorin, however noted that during the visit, Buhari would commission certain infrastructural projects Governor Abiodun’s administration has completed in the state.

The Ogun State Government said aside from the Gateway City Gate, other projects expected to be inaugurated by the President include Ijebu-Ode Mojoda-Epe Expressway.

Others include two housing estates – the 527-Unit low and Medium Kobape Housing scheme Kobape and the Highbrow, 83 duplexes at Kings Court Estate at Oke Mosan, Abeokuta.

Abiodun and other top government officials will welcome President Buhari at the Gateway City Gate Monument Park, Sagamu Interchange, at 10 a.m., where he is expected to inaugurate the first project during the visit.

Governor Abiodun’s CPS also stated that invited guests are expected to be seated by 9.30 a.m. at the City Gate by the Sagamu Interchange and Abeokuta Expressway while observing all COVID-19 safety protocols strictly.
