Toyota recalls 22,462 Sequoia, Tundra vehicles due to oil leak in power steering gear

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing is recalling 22,462 model year 2021-2022 Sequoias and model year 2021 Tundras.

The automobile manufacturer said that power steering gear assembly may have been manufactured incorrectly, which can result in an oil leak.

Toyota noted that an oil leak may cause a sudden loss of power steering assist, increasing the risk of a crash, agency report said.

In connection with what to do in correcting the error, the company said that dealers would inspect and replace the power steering gear assembly, as necessary, free of charge.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed January 22, 2022.

Meanwhile, affected vehicle owners may contact Toyota Customer Service on (800) 331-4331.

Toyota’s numbers for this recall are 21TB10 and 21TA10.
