Emmanuel Akosile | ConsumerConnect

Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) is recalling 23 model year 2021 GLE 350s, GLE 580s, GLS 450s, GLS 580s, AMG GLE 53s, AMG GLE 63 Ss, and AMG GLS 63 Ss.

The automobile manufacturer said the rear window may be insufficiently bonded to the tailgate, which could allow the rear glass to detach.

The company stated that detached rear glass could become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.

In regard to what to do in rectifying the error, MBUSA said that dealers would replace the rear window free of charge.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed December 21, 2021.

Affected vehicle owners may contact MBUSA Customer Service on (800) 367-6372.
