NCDC records 65 new COVID-19 infections with 8 deaths

*The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control discloses the total infections from the pandemic currently are 212,894 while a total of 204,675 Nigerians had been discharged across the country

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has disclosed that the country recorded 65 additional cases of the damaging Coronavirus (COVID-19) infections and eight virus- related deaths Wednesday, November 10, 2021.

The health regulatory agency stated this development in its daily COVID-19 report released morning on Thursday, November 11.

According to NCDC, the 65 added cases reported Wednesday indicate an increase from the 64 cases reported in the country the previous day.

The agency noted that with the new fatalities recorded, the death toll from the Coronavirus is 2,914 in the country.

The total infections from the pandemic currently stood  at 212,894 while a total of 204,675 Nigerians had been discharged across the country.

The NCDC noted that Plateau topped the infection chart with 22  cases, FCT followed with 21, North-central and Rivers, South-south reported 12 cases each.

Bauchi State recorded four cases, Lagos had two cases while Kaduna, Bayelsa, Edo, Jigawa reported a single case each  while the states of  Delta and Sokoto registered zero cases Wednesday, it stated.

According to the agency, a multisectoral national Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), activated at Level 2, continues to coordinate the national response activities.

It said that the country currently has 5,297  active Coronavirus cases, while a total of 3,392,457 blood samples had been tested since the pandemic broke out in Nigeria early 2020.
