UBA wins Best Innovative Bank Award in Sierra Leone

For expanding access to banking services and contributing to financial inclusion in the West African country, United Bank for Africa (UBA) Sierra Leone has been awarded ‘Best ‘Innovative Service Bank of the Year’.

The leading commercial bank disclosed the financial institution received the award at a ceremony, which held Saturday, October 9, 2021, at the Concord Times Awards Night at Bintumani Hotel, in Freetown.

Sierra Leone is a country in West Africa, on the Atlantic Ocean, and it is known for the white-sand beaches lining the Freetown Peninsula.

UBA noted that it recently introduced Saturday Banking across its branches in Sierra Leone, describing the decision as “a firm demonstration of its commitment to going the extra mile to serve its customers.”

The bank as well said “through its online and offline services, it has expanded access to banking services and contributed to financial inclusion in ways that only a few can match. It is the gold standard in terms of ease of doing business in Sierra Leone.”
