Nissan recalls 3,030 Pathfinders due to loose hood latch

Emmanuel Akosile | ConsumerConnect

Nissan North America is recalling 3,030 model year 2022 Pathfinders.

The automobile manufacturer said insufficient welds in affected vehicles may allow the secondary hood latch retainer bracket to detach from the front bumper assembly, agency report stated.

According to the company, a detached secondary hood latch may allow the hood to open if the primary latch is not engaged, obstructing the driver’s view and increasing the risk of a crash.

In respect of what to do to address the dysfunction, Nissan North America said that dealers would inspect and replace the secondary hood latch bracket, as necessary, free of charge.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on October 21, 2021.

Affected vehicle owners may contact Nissan Customer Service on (800) 867-7669, and Nissan’s number for this recall is PC840.
