Chrysler recalls 8,379 Ram ProMaster, ProMaster City vehicles for faulty seat belt retractor

Chrysler is recalling 8,379 model year 2021 Ram ProMaster City and Ram ProMaster vehicles.

It was gathered the automobile manufacturer said that the seat belt automatic locking retractors may deactivate early, which can prevent the child restraint system from securing properly.

An unsecured child restraint system can increase the risk of injury in a crash, said Chrysler.

In connection with what to do in rectifying the error, the company noted that dealers would inspect and replace the seat belt retractors, as necessary, free of charge.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 29, 2021.
