Jaguar recalls 9,000 F-Type, F-Pace, XF vehicles over faulty seat belt retractors

Jaguar is recalling 9,000 model year 2021-2022 F-Type, model year 2020-2021 F-Pace and model year 2021 XF vehicles.

The automobile manufacturer noted that the seat belt automatic locking retractors may deactivate early, which can prevent the child restraint system from securing properly.

An unsecured child restraint system can increase the risk of injury in a crash, said Jaguar.

In respect of what to do in addressing the malfunction, the company has announced that dealers will inspect and replace the seat belt assemblies, as necessary free of charge.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 22, 2021.

Affected vehicle owners may contact Jaguar Customer Service on (800) 452-4827, and Jaguar’s number for this recall is H378, report said.
