Regulator activates podcast channel to boost telecoms consumer engagement

*The Nigerian Communications Commission expands its level of social media engagement by providing a fresh platform for informing the public of its regulatory initiatives through the ‘NCC Global Connect Podcast Channel’

As part of the platforms designed for informing the general public of its regulatory initiatives, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has activated the ‘NCC Global Connect Podcast Channel’ via its corporate Web site.

ConsumerConnect reports the NCC stated that the fresh initiative is in consonance with sustaining the telecoms regulator’s commitment to ensuring a well-informed telecommunications sector, both in the West African country and worldwide.

It said: “The Nigerian Communications Commission has expanded its level of social media engagement by providing another avenue for informing the public of its regulatory initiatives through the NCC Global Connect Podcast Channel.”

This publication had reported the Commission launched three new projects, including a Strategic Vision (Implementation) Plan (SVP) 2021-2025, and two other projects as essential policy initiatives in Abuja, FCT.

Prof. Isa Ali Pantami, Honourable Minister for Communications and Digital Economy, who performed the official presentation of the on behave of President Muhammadu Buhari, assured the private sector players in Nigeria government’s continued support.

The two other projects the telecoms regulator launched Tuesday, September 7, 2021, are a Compendium of Prof. Umar Umar Danbatta, FNSE, FAEng, FRAES, FNIEEE, Executive Vice-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (EVC/CEO) of the Commission’s Speeches and presentations as well as a podcast titled, “NCC Global Connect”.

Danbatta’s 531-page book is entitled: ‘Catalysing Nigeria’s Socio-Economic Transformation through Broadband Infrastructure’, was reviewed by Prof. Chidi Emmanuel Akujor, FAS, FRAS (UK), FNIP, FSESN, FRAES, FASN.

Besides the Commission’s Web site at https://ncc.gov.ng/accessible/media-centre/podcasts, ConsumerConnect checks confirmed the telecoms industry regulator’s “NCC Global Connect” is now live, as the Commission also stated the podcast is also available on the following podcast directories for consumers to take a listen:
