Consumer Protection: NCC requests Nigerians’ participation in Cybersecurity Surveys 2021

*The Nigerian Communications Commission says the exercise is to enable it gain insights into the level of safety in the cyberspace, and how this can be improved upon for the protection of telecoms consumers in the country

In its efforts at ensuring a secure cyberspace for both the operators and consumers of communications services and infrastructure in the country, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has announced it is conducting a Cyberbullying Survey and Child Internet Usage Survey respectively.

The telecoms regulator, while announcing the call for Nigerians’ participation in the surveys via its Web site Thursday, August 5, 2021, stated that the exercise is to gain insights into the level of safety in cyberspace, and how this can be improved for telecoms consumers in the country.

As the country’s premier communications regulatory agency under the Federal Ministry of Communications, the Commission noted that it is mandated to work with all stakeholders to ensure a secure cyberspace all stakeholders in the Nigerian economy.
