Nissan recalls 138,736 Sentra vehicles over bent tie rods

*The automaker says the tie rods in the affected vehicles may be bent, causing a loss of steering control in motion

Nissan North America is recalling 138,736 model year 2020-2021 Sentra vehicles.

The automobile manufacturer stated that the left and/or right tie rod may be bent.

A bent tie rod can break, causing a loss of steering control and increasing the risk of a crash, the company said.

In respect of what to do to rectify the error, dealers will inspect and replace the left and/or right tie rods, as necessary, free of charge.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 5, 2021, agency report said.

Meanwhile, affected owners may contact Nissan Customer Service on 1-800-867-7669, and Nissan’s number for this recall is PM985.
