In order to protect lives and property of all road users in the country, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has called on motorists in Borno State, North-East Nigeria, to cooperate with its personnel to facilitate the smooth conduct of the ongoing “Operation Show Your Licence” in the region.

Mr. Ibrahim Sanusi, Sector Commander, made the call in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria Thursday, July 8, 2021, in Maiduguri, Borno State capital.

The Sector Commander said that the one-week special patrol exercise by the Corps personnel was in the best interest of all road users.

Sanusi stated: “The essence is to have an idea of motorists playing our roads and to ascertain how many have a licence, those with genuine a licence and those whose licences have expired.

“We are not out to harass people or intimidate but to ensure only qualified drivers ply the road.”

The nationwide exercise is going on smoothly in the state, and those without a licence or expired licence need to do what is expected of them before plying the road, said the Commander.

Several motorists have been trooping to the outlets of the Borno State Revenue Service so as to renew their licences and other documents in view of the ongoing exercise which started Monday, July 5, 2021, according to report.
