Volkswagen recalls 3,231 ID.4 vehicles over misadjusted headlights

Volkswagen Group of America is recalling 3,231 model year 2021 ID.4 vehicles.

The automobile manufacturer said the caps were installed on the headlight vertical aim instead the horizontal aim, allowing for horizontal adjustment of the headlight beam.

Adjusting the horizontal headlight beam can increase glare, reducing visibility for the driver and increasing the risk of a crash, agency report said.

In respect of what to do in correcting the error, dealers will remove the caps from the vertical aim and install them on the horizontal aim free of charge.

Volkswagen stated that owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 30, 2021.
