Manufacturer recalls 50,000 containers of ‘Medically Minded’ hand sanitiser over methanol

In order to safeguard the health of consumers of the product brand, Global Sanitizers of Las Vegas, Nevada, is recalling 50,000 containers of Medically Minded hand sanitisers.

ConsumerConnect gathered the company noted the affected product contains methanol, which can result in nausea, vomiting, headache, blurred vision, permanent blindness, seizures, coma, permanent damage to the nervous system, or death.

There have been no reports of adverse reactions to date.

The recalled product, packaged in 8.5-oz/250-ml clear bottles with caps with UPC 7675300359, lot numbers E212020 & E082020 and Best Buy of 5/21/2022 was shipped to wholesalers across the United States (US), who distributed them from July to August 2020.

In regard to what to do in correcting the error, consumers who purchased the recalled product should stop using it, and discard or return it to the place of purchase.
