Volvo recalls 162 XC90 Excellence vehicles over unsecured front seat

Emmanuel Akosile | ConsumerConnect

Volvo Car USA is recalling 162 model year 2016-2020 XC90 Excellence vehicles.

The company says liquid or condensation on the rear seat control display may cause the front passenger seat to move back as far as possible.

According to Volvo Car USA, a passenger in the rear seat may become trapped by the front seat without the ability to cancel the seat’s movement, increasing the risk of injury.

As regards what to do in correcting the error, Volvo will notify affected owners, and dealers will update the rear seat control display software free of charge.

The current recall is expected to begin June 18, 2021.

Meanwhile, vehicle owners may contact Volvo Customer Service on (800) 458-1552, and Volvo’s number for this recall is R10093.
