Subaru recalls 408,271 Crosstrek, Crosstrek Hybrid, Forester vehicles over loose bracket bolts

Subaru of America is recalling 408,271 model year 2018-2019 Crosstrek cars, model year 2019 Crosstrek Hybrid, and model year 2019 Forester vehicles.

The rear stabiliser bracket bolts may loosen and detach.

The company said the missing bolts may allow the rear stabiliser bracket to shift, increasing the risk of a crash while in motion, agency report said.

In connection with what to do to right the error, Subaru says it will notify affected owners, and dealers will retorque and replace any missing bolts free of charge.

The current recall is expected to begin May 14, 2021.
