Lagos Government tasks agencies, parastatals on quality performance

*Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has urged the heads of government agencies, parastatals in the state to work as a team in order to achieve excellent performance

In order to ensure cooperation among government agencies towards actualising the vision of Lagos in becoming a model city in Nigeria nay Africa, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has advised heads of parastatals on quality performance.

ConsumerConnect learnt Governor Sanwo-Olu, who stated this at a media parley Tuesday, April 27, at the State House, Alausa, in Ikeja, the state capital, said heads of parastatals must work as a team so as to achieve quality performance.

According to the governor, stressing that some agencies are even bigger than some ministries, noted that they should see their position as a commitment.

Lagos State Deputy Governor (Dr.) Obafemi Hamzat, disclosed that the vision of Lagos is to become a model city, also advised heads of parastatals to relate with one another to succeed.

In his remarks at the forum, Mr. Afolabi Ayantayo, Special Adviser to the Lagos State Government (LASG) on Parastatals and Government-Owned Companies (PMO), stated the PMO was established in 1986 to manage parastatals, but was upgraded to a ministry under the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration.

Dr. Mumini Alao, Publisher of Complete Football and Complete Sports, in a paper presentation, likened government parastatals to a football team where each one has a role to play in delivering good governance to the people.
