INFINITI recalls 12,943 Q50, Q60 vehicles for faulty Engine Control Module

INFINITI is recalling 12,943 model year 2021 Q50 and Q60 cars.

The automobile company stated after detecting rapid acceleration, the Engine Control Module (ECM) may incorrectly reduce engine power and reduce fuel supply to the engine.

A lack of fuel may cause an engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash, it stated.

As regards what to do in rectifying the error, INFINITI will notify affected owners, and dealers will re-programme the ECM software free of charge.

The recall is expected to begin May 25, 2021.
