American Honda Motor Co. is recalling 1,093 model year 2019-2020 Passport and Pilot cars with Continental tyres.

The company said that one more tyres may have been cured for too long during tyre production.

It stated that overcured tyres may develop a break in the sidewall, resulting in sudden air loss or belt edge separation, which could lead to tread/belt loss.

Either condition can cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash or injury, said Honda.

In regard to what to do, Honda will notify affected owners, and dealers will inspect all four tires and replace them, as necessary, free of charge.

The current recall is expected to begin April 19, 2021.

Owners may contact Honda Customer Service on (888) 234-2138, and Honda’s number for this recall is UA2.
