Hyundai recalls 552 Genesis G70 vehicles for faulty ABS module

Hyundai Motor America is recalling 552 model year 2019-2021 Genesis G70 cars.

The automobile manufacturing company stated that the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) module of the affected vehicles could malfunction and experience short circuit.

An electrical short circuit inside the ABS module could cause an engine compartment fire while parked or driving, it said.

ConsumerConnect had reported recently that Hyundai was recalling 94,646 model year 2015-2016 Genesis and model year 2017-2020 Genesis G80 vehicles.

The automobile manufacturer said the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) module also could malfunction and short circuit while a vehicle is in motion.

An electrical short circuit inside the ABS module could cause an engine compartment fire while parked or driving.

Now, regarding what to do in correcting the model year 2019-2021 Genesis G70 cars error, Hyundai will notify affected owners, and dealers will replace the ABS module fuse free of charge, agency report said.

Vehicle owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the remedy is complete.

The current recall is expected to begin May 7, 2021.
