On the grounds of dirty teaching environment and unqualified teachers among other factors, the Osun State Government has sealed off 23 private schools in the state for operating without required standards.

ConsumerConnect learnt the Osun State Ministry of Education, while disclosing this development Tuesday, March 23 said reasons for closure of the affected schools, included unqualified teachers, dirty teaching environment, non-renewable of licences and others operating without licences.

Some of the shut private schools include Hephzibah Kiddies, Ejigbo; Najeemdeen Model Schools, Ejigbo; Favour of God Secondary School Okinni as well as Omolara Nursery and Primary School, Iwo, among others.

Hon. Folorunso Oladoyin, Honourable Commissioner for Education in Osun State, while supervising the closure of the schools Tuesday, said sealing of the affected schools was part of the government’s efforts to sanitising the education sector in the state for better results.

The Commissioner stated the Governor Adegboyega Oyetola-led administration in the state would ensure that students always get the best in terms of quality education.

Oladoyin revealed that the agents of the state education ministry would continue to scout around the state so as to fish out more mushroom and substandard private schools.

“The state government is determined to producing graduates who are critical thinkers and globally competitive,” the Commissioner noted.

Oladoyin, therefore, advised private schools that are not properly registered with the state’s Ministry of Education currently, to do so soon because the government will not condone any act that can sabotage its resolve to give Osun students the best.
