Telecoms & ICT: ATCON’s virtual stakeholder engagement on Broadband Plan 2020─2025 holds March 25

The Association of Telecommunications Companies of Nigeria (ATCON) is set for virtual engagement with the key stakeholders on the new National Broadband Plan 2020─2025 in the Nigerian Telecoms and ICT sector of the economy Thursday, March 25, 2021.

Mr. Ajibola Olude, Executive Secretary of ATCON, in a statement made available to ConsumerConnect said the Association’s special virtual event is positioned to have a landmark impact on the plan configured by Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, Honourable Minister for Communications and Digital Economy.

The statement noted that ATCON embarked on the structured event because understanding the plan and purpose of the Federal Government, under the leadership of the Minister cannot be said to be enough without complementing the concerted efforts of the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) respectively.

“The landmark effect would be as a result of the carefully selected industry leaders that have been designated to speak on behalf of their various segments of the industry,” Olude stated.

The Association said the this special event would help the government to formulate  necessary policies that have the potential to support the dreams and aspirations outlined in the New National Broadband Plan 2020─2025 as the focus of the stakeholder engagement.
