In the country’s renewed efforts at combating the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, United States President Joe Biden has announced that there will be enough vaccine doses available to vaccinate every American adult by the end of May 2021.

ConsumerConnect reports with the recent addition of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, Biden also announced that Merck would assist Johnson & Johnson in producing the vaccine.

The President stated that the new timeline is two months earlier than previously predicted.

He said: “We’re moving in the right direction. And today’s announcements are a huge step in our effort to beat this pandemic.”

With more vaccine doses entering the pipeline, it should speed up the production and distribution process, the President disclosed.

He, therefore, urged states to add teachers and childcare workers to the list of people who are eligible to receive the vaccine in March.

According to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) tally compiled by Johns Hopkins University, the total confirmed cases in the US as of night Wednesday, March 3, 2021, totalled 28,725,592 with 517,006 deaths in the country.

On the global scene, the world total global virus cases was estimated at 114,912,129 with the total global deaths put at 2,552,687.

In the meantime, Texas State has lifted mask mandate and business restrictions.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott had declared it’s time to get back to normal in his state, agency report said.

With COVID-19 cases on the decline in the state, Abbott has lifted the statewide mandate to wear a nose mask in public places and declared all types of businesses may resume normal operations at 100 percent capacity.

The governor stated: “Removing statewide mandates does not end personal responsibility.

“It’s just that now state mandates are no longer needed.”

Nevertheless, some officials in the state’s urban areas do not agree to these developments.

They also criticised Abbott’s declaration because they say it does not allow local municipalities to impose their own virus-mitigation practices in Texas State.
