EFCC discovers Internet fraud training ‘academy’, arrests 27 suspects in FCT

Acting on intelligence, the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abuja Zonal Office, have uncovered and stormed another underworld ‘academy’ in Abuja, FCT, for the grooming of Internet fraudsters fleecing unsuspecting consumers of their wealth.

The EFCC operatives, who discovered the fraud-oriented ‘academy’ stormed the centre located in the Arab Contractors Area of Mpape Hills, a suburb of the FCT, Thursday, February 18 and arrested 27 Internet fraud suspects during the operation, reports Channels TV.

Emmanuel Clement, Coordinator of the ‘academy’, is said to be 30-year-old and his students are mostly young school leavers, ladies inclusive, within the age range of 18 to 25 years.

Operatives of the anti-graft agency recovered items from the suspects, including a Toyota Venza car, 30 mobile phones, and a laptop.

They will be charged to court as soon as the investigation is concluded, according to report.
