Stressing the fact that they have capacity to mitigate the pandemic, if given a chance amid the country’s efforts at developing indigenous solutions to the damaging Coronavirus (CPVID-19) pandemic, the National Association of Traditional and Complementary Medicine of Nigeria has urged the Federal Government to extend COVID-19 support packages to its members to assist in tackling the raging virus.

Alhaji Ibrahim Nakowa, National President of the Association, who stated this at a press conference Tuesday, in Abuja, FCT, said the association has the capacity to alleviate the disruptive virus if allowed.

Nakowa noted that members of the association have produced drugs for the treatment of COVID-19 which are now undergoing scientific tests by the Federal Ministry of Health.

The National President stressed all the Association needs are essential equipment and approval for it to roll out products that are competitive globally.

Dr. Bamidele, National Secretary of the Association, also called on the government to give traditional medicine practitioners a chance to prove their worth in the country.
