LASCOPA resolved 528 of the whole lot while 28 remain ongoing, representing a resolution rate of approximately 95 percent.

The agency equally facilitated credit adjustments and refunds amounting to ₦26,243,758.75 for affected consumers.

It is noted that the development further underlined the importance of regulatory intervention, consumer advocacy and mediation in resolving disputes and securing appropriate redress in the Lagos State economy.

Commenting on the latest intervention involving Ikeja Electric, Mr. Yusuf Musiliu, Head of Complaints and Mediation Department at LASCOPA, confirmed the agency received and analysed complaints submitted through online and offline channels.

Musiliu said that the stakeholders’ parley provided a platform for Ikeja Electric officials and affected consumers to discuss grievances, reach mutually acceptable agreements and resolve disputes amicably.

The LASCOPA Head of Complaints and Mediation Department

also expressed satisfaction with the agreements reached through the engagement.

He urged aggrieved electricity consumers to follow established procedures for seeking redress rather than resorting to self-help.

Musiliu further advised consumers to submit relevant supporting documents, including electricity bills, payment receipts, and other evidence, when filing complaints to facilitate timely investigations and resolution.

The agency as well disclosed the stakeholders’ parley with Ikeja Electric holds on the last Thursday of every month.

According to LASCOPA, the forum provides a regular platform for consumers to present unresolved complaints, and engage directly with the electricity distribution company.

The agency encouraged consumers to report billing disputes, estimated billing, overbilling, electricity supply issues, and other unfair practices promptly for possible redress.

LASCOPA restated its commitment to protecting consumers and promoting accountability among service providers in line with its mandate and the Lagos State Consumer Protection Law 2025 (as amended).

Solebo urged Lagos residents to contact the agency through its toll-free helpline, 080 0005 2726, available on weekdays, or send e-mail to: lasgcopa@gmail. com, to report complaints and seek assistance.
