In continuation of its transnational offensive against cybercriminals, the United States (US) Federal Bureau of Investigation has said its operatives arrested nine suspects in connection with cyber scam centres across Nigeria.
Kash Patel, Director of the FBI, who stated this Monday, October 26, 2026, noted that a total of $11 million in potentially freezable funds have also been identified across multiple countries.

ConsumerConnect reports the FBI operatives performed the sting operation on the suspects in what the secret police described as “Operation Blackout”, a coordinated crackdown on cyber crooks.
The security agency also affirmed that the coded operation has been “taking the fight directly to the international cybercriminal networks stealing billions from Americans.”
Patel further said the suspects who operated in the unmentioned scam centres in Nigeria had exploited innocent victims, stolen life savings, and operated across international borders “believing they are beyond the reach of law enforcement.”
The FBI, however, emphasised that such cybercriminals are “wrong”.
Patel, therefore, thanked Nigerian law enforcement, and its partners in London, United Kingdom (UK), for their outstanding cooperation in this regard.
“To the criminals targeting Americans from overseas: Justice Will Find You,” the statement added.
