Mr. Paul Odenyi, Deputy Director, Media and Communication at NOA, who noted this in statement Saturday, May 2, 2026, in Abuja, FCT, said Issa-Onilu acknowledged the Minister’s firm commitment to promoting truthful, timely, and responsible communication in the public space.

The Director-General of the agency also emphasised that such an effective approach has played a critical role in countering misinformation while strengthening public trust in government institutions across the country.

ConsumerConnect reports Alhaji Mohammed Idris, Nigeria’s official Spokesman and Distinguished Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), clocked 60 Saturday.

He equally commended Idris’s steadfast leadership and dedication to advancing Nigeria’s national reorientation agenda in line with the country’s broader development goals.

Issa-Onilu, therefore, described the Minister as a focused and forward-looking leader whose dedication to public service has continued to strengthen the information and orientation sector.

Idris’ stewardship, the Director-General stated, has provided the necessary direction for agencies under the ministry to engage citizens and promote national consciousness effectively.

Issa-Onilu further observed that the Minister’s consistent emphasis on national values, civic responsibility, and patriotism had helped to reposition public discourse.

According to him, Minister Idris’ commitment to national values has encouraged several millions of Nigerians to adopt a stronger sense of belonging and responsibility towards the country’s growth and stability.

Issa-Onilu restated that Idris’ leadership has brought renewed energy and purpose to the task of reconnecting citizens with the core ideals of unity, discipline, and collective responsibility, which remain essential for achieving sustainable national development.

NOA, Onilu said, the agency had continued to draw strength from the Minister’s leadership, which he noted has enhanced its operational focus and enabled it to deepen its grassroots sensitisation efforts across diverse communities in the country.

Issa-Onilu reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to supporting the Minister’s vision by intensifying advocacy programmes.

He noted that such programmes are aimed at promoting discipline, integrity, and active citizenship.

The Director-General, therefore, urged Nigerians to subscribe to, and take ownership of national development efforts.

He wished Minister Idris more success in life, praying God Almighty to grant him long life and greater fulfillment.
