In safeguarding the health of consumers, the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has alerted Nigerians to the recall of Indomie Brand Noodles, Vegetable Flavour, by Rappel Conso, the French authority.

ConsumerConnect reports NAFDAC, which issued the public alert Friday, December 19, 2025, via its official Web site, disclosed the French Authority had recalled the Indomie brand due to the presence of undeclared allergens, specifically milk and eggs.

The recalled affected product is Noodles vegetable flavour product with a Batch: All lots.

Its “Best Before” (BB) Date is 06/02/2026 but the Origin Country is not stated, according to report.

The European country’s regulator said the affected brand might pose a significant health risk to consumers with allergies or intolerances.

The agency also stated though the official risk of the said products entering into Nigeria is low due to the Federal Government’s ban on noodle importation, it however, emphasised the need for escalated vigilance to prevent possible illicit entry, or circulation of the same implicated Indomie brand into the West African country.

NAFDAC places zonal directors, state coordinators on alert

Meanwhile, NAFDAC has said it commenced vigilance actions to guard against possible entry of the affected brand into the Nigeria.

The health sector regulator agency alerted that the acquisition of the recalled product through “online purchase” or “international travel” could not be excluded.

It further stated: “All NAFDAC Zonal Directors and State Coordinators have been directed to carry out surveillance, and mop up the product, if found within the zones and states in the Federation.

The agency equally urged product distributors, retailers, and consumers to exercise caution and vigilance within the supply chain to avoid the distribution, sale, and consumption of the recalled foreign brand of Indomie noodles in Nigeria.

As regards what consumer should do, NAFDAC said: “Consumers should discard the product and not consume it.

“Report any suspicion of the sale of the implicated brand of Indomie noodles to the nearest NAFDAC office, NAFDAC on 0800-162-3322.”

The health regulator stated: “Also, report adverse events, or side effects related to the consumption of the products or devices to the nearest NAFDAC office, or through the use of the E-reporting platforms available on the NAFDAC Web site: www.nafdac.gov.ng.”
